Even though Johnny isn't quite two yet, he has definitely entered "the terrible twos". Although this age has to be one of the cutest stages a kid goes through, there are the difficulties that also come in tow. Not only is it hard for his parents and siblings to deal with the frustration of not being able to understand his needs, he also has to learn how to deal with new emotions and a new body that can do more than his infant body could. For instance.... climbing up onto the kitchen island unbeknownst to us, but not remembering the effects of gravity. Here are the pictures to prove it:

Oh dear! That really is purple. What a cutie, though. We are experiencing some of the same type of things. For example, our little guy has recently discovered the shelves in the pantry work just like a ladder. :)
ReplyDeleteIt hurts my heart to see that, poor little guy. But he's smiling so I guess he's OK - but how about mom?!
ReplyDeletehe is the cutest little boy i have ever seen in my entire life. i love the first picture of him. and the black eye looks awesome, i'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteWow. Johnny and my Christopher must be close to the same age - two in July??
ReplyDeleteHere's a funny for you - my inlaws are missionaries for the temple department in SLC. They met Uncle John and Aunt Louise once and just fell in love with them. Anyway, the Layton Mom called one day and said she was auditing the Colonia Juarez temple to make sure all the live ordinances were being done properly. She said, "I'm holding in my hand the recommends for John Whetten, son of John and Louise, and Jennifer, his wife. I just want you to know that everything was done properly and it has all been recorded. They are good to go." I just laughed.
ouch!!! Poor little guy! I think gravity is a lesson all toddlers must learn the hard way!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry Johnny. I had to chuckle at the pictures.
