First Piano Practice

I am a mother...
...and I am a piano teacher...
...and this is the record of six-month-old Joseph's first piano practice.

Now, how am I going to get the twelve-year-old to practice?

  1. my goodness your talents run amuck! Film director/producer too! Its sad when little ones are easier to 'direct' than BIG ones-but such is life! Thank you for sharing your piano banging, I mean playing angel! Baby boys shouldn't be that pretty:)

  3. That is so cute. We need to get together for dinner...that is a great idea.
How did you download your video? I tried once and it wouldn't let me.
Tell me when you are ready to start teaching.

  6. I LOVE YOUR NEW PROFILE PICTURE! There I had to get that out of the way!
Next that was too cute! He seems like he loved it!
And little Hiriam in the background, sounded like he was fussing cause he wasn't having a turn...or else he couldn't take the noise! LOL TOO FUNNY!

  8. soooooo cute!! I need to talk with you and Kristin actually. I know some about piano. I took lessons as a kid and then from Kristin a couple years ago (she was awesome!!!)- I stopped when I found out I was expecting twins- couldn't really afford it anymore, anyway.

My 7 year old was expressing interest in learning and so I decided I would teach him. I got some books, and based on the example of Kristin- how she taught me, I started teaching him. The first few lessons went okay, but then he wouldn't practice and would put up a big fight about new lessons. I am not sure what to do- we haven't had a lesson in a couple weeks because of it. Should I keep trying, but maybe a different tactic, or let it go for a while? Sorry to leave such a long comment asking for advice. It has just been on my mind.

I love seeing babies "play" a piano! :)

  9. awww....that is so cute! I wished I stuck with my piano lessons but unfortunately I learned that I can be really good at carrying on a conversation when I want to distract someone and I always talked to my teacher the whole lesson! She would always say "Laurice next week we are having a real lesson" and then I would get her again. Then I quit taking when I was 18. So I have no skills!
