Dating my husband...
We haven't done it since the twins were born...going out on a date alone, like to a restaurant, I mean.
It was finally time. I knew the babies would be fine to be left without me for two hours as they enjoy eating solid foods now. And if we had a lunch date instead of an evening date, we could hire two babysitters to care for the twins during the time the toddler is napping and it should be a piece of cake.
We invited this beautiful lady...
...and her sister to do the job. (Can't you feel the love?)
I decided that I should dress the part for our first date. I put on a long-sleeved, fitted brown knit shirt (I was able to squeeze into a large this time, instead of an extra large), a long, black, three-tiered skirt with black lace accents at each tier, new brown suede boots with beige fur lining and big silver hoop earrings. I thought I looked pretty hip until I remembered that my six-year-old frames had broken earlier that morning and were being held together by duct tape. Want to see?...
...Yeah, nerd is right. Just ask my kids, even when I am not holding together my glasses with duct tape. So much for my attempts at glamour. Maybe next time. Even so, we did enjoy ourselves and came home to find that all three babies had slept the entire time. Honey, if you're reading this, let's do this more often! Love you!

Dating your spouse is one of those little known secrets to a happy marriage.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the nerd thing, after we have kids, we have no dignity left anyway.
First things first, your blackberry pie in the sidebar is seriously speaking to me. ;o) I was "this close" to licking my screen, LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou're not a nerd - I am a nerd, trust me on it! And my husband, bwahaha! What a wonderful date you guys enjoyed! Praise to Jesus for returning home to find out that the babes were asleep. It's the icing on a delicious cake. :o)
