In regard to the fact that I had unbelievably strong motherly intuitions that the baby I am currently carrying is a girl, I am stating here that I was absolutely, unequivocally, completely, 100 percent...
(for those of you who speak Spanish, please note the words "PENE", next to the arrow, and "HOMBRE", at the bottom right of the ultrasound printout)
...WRONG! "PENE" means penis in Spanish and "HOMBRE" means man.
Yes, we are having yet another boy. I guess I had better learn more about the scouting program. According to the doctor, our baby is healthy and growing, with a sound heartbeat, surrounded by sufficient amniotic fluid. What more could a mom ask? Additionally, we will never, ever have to buy this child new clothing. My mother also pointed out that this is a huge blessing in that the baby won't have to endure the name we picked out had it been a girl, Adelaide Sariah. Don't worry, mom. There will be more opportunities. That name has been in wait for four boys and it is not going anywhere.

Maybe Heavenly Father has a hand in this string of boys. He knows you plan on naming a girl Adelaide and He just won't let that happen. That's my take on the situation. Tro
ReplyDeleteTro, even though you are so mean, you make me laugh! LOL! (Tro is my first cousin, to all who might be wondering.)
ReplyDeleteI think Adelaide is a very nice name.
ReplyDeleteI had a girl's name pick out since my first pregnancy and had three boys before my first girl. My boys out number the girls but I always have a hard time picking out boys name.
I think it's time for Mohonri or Moriancumr and Mory for short. We need lot's of righteous young men! The girls outnumber the boys thus far. That's why you're getting all the fellas...
ReplyDeleteOkay, Kelli, I already have one named Mahonri. I will think of something else, maybe like Moroni or Isaiah....
ReplyDeletehahaha sorry I had to laugh at Tro's comment. Jen I am happy you are havign a healthy boy. I pray the rest of the pregnancy will be great for you. Yeah.........another cute boy!!
ReplyDeleteSariah, I like, but I have to agree with Troy that Adelaide is just, well, a gramma name. Like for my gramma's gramma. Just keep having boys! And congrats and best wishes. If you have any other girl name suggestions, we're still undecided, and only a couple of weeks to go.~Bethany
ReplyDeleteSince way back in middle school, I had always wanted to name my first born son after my husband. But then I married Brian. And my brother's name is Bryan. And the year after I got married my sister married a Brian. And we had a cousin named Brian. So that idea was frowned on excessivly.
ReplyDeleteMy husband wanted to name his first son after his dad, whom he is very close to. So we named our first born son Byron.
The "family" declared that that was still too close to Brian and way to confusing. Aw well ... Byron J. B. II will be 28 this fall ;-}
Since I wasn't going to be able to name our first born son Brian, I declared that we would name our first daughter Breanna. Breanna is the female German version of Brian.
She would be Breanna Lynn. Lynn is the middle name of two of my dearest friends.
While there is the possibility that she is one of the babies awaiting us in heaven, the four that made it full term were all boys.
We have a nephew named Isaiah - a wonderful boy!!! Himself due to be a daddy any time now.
To this day we find ourselves scanning the credits on movies scoping out names ;-p No, we will not be having anymore ourselves (I no longer have the neccesary organs ;-p), but it is interesting and even often amusing reading.
Jen, how's happened your hubby took ALL of the kids to AZ? Did you actually let yourself relax and recharge your inner batteries?
First, congratulations on a healthy baby and body growing within...there is nothing on this planet that produces as great a sigh of relief knowing all is well within...
ReplyDeleteSecond, having my own share of sons and daughters (3 + 4), each child is indeed a gift, and you are a lovely mother to all.
Best best wishes!
Okay, let me just refute that I DO NOT get a nickel for every time someone visits my blog! I really have no idea how much I get, but I know it is only a fraction of a penny!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I did relax! I spent all day on a forum talking about Mormon beliefs with other Christians, I watched Steel Magnolias, I went to visit the OB while my son took my daughter to the ortho, and I didn't clean up after myself. It was awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Jen! And, Adelaide is a seriously beautiful name. Hang on to it. She'll put in her appearance sometime. Although, I still had one more boy name I wanted to use: Jacob Benjamin.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your New baby boy. I'm sure he will bring lot's of joy to your family.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine what the other guys will be teaching the new guy, lol.
Hope all goes well through the rest of your pregnancy.
psh.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI remember being pregnant with my 3rd, and I was SO sure it was a girl, but my MIL said "I think it will be a boy because Heavenly Father needs more missionaries."
And lo and behold....it was a boy. =D
Also, you're evening the odds for the women in the church; apparently there's a 56% majority of female LDS members. So your sons will have their pick... =) =)
ROFL!
At first I typoed "your SINS will have their pick..." =D =D That strikes me as rather funny. =D
We called our daughter Emily Sarah. I wanted her to be Emily Sariah, but my husband disagreed so we compromised. I love the name Sariah.
Congrats on your upcoming boy! You are an inspiration to me. I can already see how cute he is by his profile.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had our last boy, I remember being so sad that I would never have a little girl to name Lachlan after holding onto that name through three boys. Then Heavenly Father sent us our little surprise blessing, who I was absolutely positive was another boy.
I can just see Hyrum and Joseph loving on and playing with their little brother. Can't wait to see the photos!
Oh btw, I look forward to my kids meeting up with yours sometime. Could we work out some kind of arranged marriage or something? I want one or all three of my daughters to have you for a MIL, so you can help make up what I have failed to teach them.
Congrats on another cute boy! I agree, He is sending missionaries and sometimes he sends them 2 at a time. ;) Someday we will both get a girl. But at least you already have a couple of girls, I may be in boyland forever...but i do love it :D
ReplyDeleteEh? I really like Adelaide.
ReplyDeleteI think girls names are harder to pick out than boys - even though I grew up with 3 sisters, no brothers, and have a son (baby girl on the way!)
We take the "we're not telling 'til the baby's named" approach. That way, if they don't like it, they have to keep their mouth shut. :)
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! :) Happy also to hear all is well.
ReplyDeleteNot Moroni or Isaiah!! How about John oh wait you already have that name. My personal favorite is Jett! Use that one since I wont be having another! Im happy about the boy!
ReplyDeleteAww congrats on the baby boy!! A true blessing and just think how close all of those boys will be!! My husband has 3 brothers really close in age, and they are super close.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I also have a house full of boys-5 of them- and only 3 girls...though i have found that it seems true, the girls are a bit more work! (I also have secretly wished for twins with each pregnancy, but that has not been in the cards for us...yet!)I just found your blog through a community site, and am amazed and humbled by your story. God has blessed you with much...your family is simply lovely. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Not having to buy new clothes can be a good thing! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having a baby boy. Its a wonderful time of your life. I love the name Isaiah. Such a strong boy name.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Jeni, did you see that? Tami says she LOVES the name Isaiah! And Jett is just ridiculous...
