  1. I loved these pics. Are they eating macadamia nut cookies? Those are my favorite.

I particularly enjoyed trying to figure out what the blue pajama-clad little one in the background of one of those pics was up to! :)

  5. Right Christy, just in time to start again! Four more months. I thought I would try nursing three, but I just basically got sick of the whole nursing thing. Well, 20 months is a long time and none of us are looking back!

  6. Good for you! I just called it quits after 27 months...last one, sob.

  7. Do you have any tips? My 20 month old is showing no signs of being done but I am! Btw, I love your blog and read it everyday!

  8. Pati, thank you so much for your sweet compliment! So what I did was to first teach them that in the middle of the night that they could go back to sleep just by cuddling. Then I was able to only feed them when I put them to sleep at nap time and night time.

I then taught them that at night-time, it was okay to just cuddle instead of nurse to get to sleep, so then I was just down to nap time.

I then decided to put them in their own cribs, as they had been sleeping on either side of me since they were born. At nap-time I would completely darken their room with a heavy blanket over the window, put them in their cribs, read them a story, then lay them down. I would turn their light off, then sit between the two cribs on a stool and hold both of their hands, as I thought they would still like bodily contact, until they fell asleep. It was a process that took about two months, but I never had to use the cry-it-out method and I am so thankful for that. I actually plan on writing a post going into more detail if you'd like to check back!

  9. He-He your so funny!
    Love your blogs!
Just a note though, My cute daughter-in-law was told since she was breast feeding her twins...the chances of her NOT getting preggers, was pretty slim!
Well "pretty slim" is now due to arrive in MAY!! He-he! Thanks for sharing, & giving me a chuckle!

  11. First off congrats on your achievement :-D I know what a big deal it is!! Did you earn a "I survived ..." T-shirt? ;->

Secondly, I agree with Michelle. I too was wondering what the 3 year old had dropped, and if it had been found or picked up before the older person later was standing in the exact same spot ;-p

thirdly, I noticed your double ovens. Fighting jealousie(?) here!!! (Man do I wish there was spell check for comment sections!!! o;-p)

  12. How do you tell your boys apart? My twins just turned two and we've taken to cutting one's hair shorter than the other just so we can tell who is who! Doesn't matter if we dress them alike or different, I can't tell unless they're standing right in front of me.
Congratulations! My boys threw me off a few weeks after their first birthday. I wasn't ready for that:/
    Looooove you're blog!

  13. Lindsey, I don't even know if my twins are identical or not. It was never confirmed and they were born in separate sacs. They can still be identical though, but it is unlikely. My husband swears that they are not, but then sometimes he can't tell them apart! I think they are identical, but one has a larger face than the other and they have completely different expressions, so it is easy for me to tell them apart as long as I have my glasses on! :)

  14. Michelle, I have no idea what the blue-PJ-clad boy was doing myself!

  15. Thank you for sharing your tips so kindly. I can't wait to read your full post about this topic. I really can't do the crying out method either, he's my sweet baby!

  16. they are sooo cute! I was sad when my last baby weaned, it went by so fast, I was hoping to keep it up till she was 2-ish, but one day I sat down for her morning nurse and she climbed down instead and asked for a waffle, lol. I knew it was all over then.

  17. I've enjoyed reading about you nursing your twins. Pretty soon I hope to be suppling milk for two little babies. One is adopted and seven months and the other one should be popping out any day now.

People are surprised that I would expect to have milk for both babies, but I know people have enough milk for twins all the time.

I don't know if I'll get my seven month old to latch on so I can tandem nurse, but I'm hoping I can figure out how to nurse and pump at the same time.

I got a good laugh about the teenagers and little feet sticking out. I have the same issue with my teen boys. When I induced lactation for my first adopted daughter, I started out in my bedroom and eventually just came out into the living room and the boys dealt with it. I wonder how it will affect their breatfeeding perspective.
