your daughter is right - art is everywhere!!! She is also blessed, because learning how to see the art everywhere, will bring you a lot more little moments of enjoyment through out the course of your life.
When we were doing the food every year for the Memorial Day work weekend at camp, we started doing various food art things for certain meals, Espically the picnic themed meal. Made a frog out of green peppers, ants with legs out of grapes and their stems, etc. We had fun and the people LOVED it!
God makes even the most ordinary things beautiful. I totally would not have known that was celery if you hadn't told me. And that is a picture I would hang on my wall.
How cool is that?!?! She should come up with another couple of them and have you post them so that we can all do them with our kids, take pics and print them for kitchen decorations. Did she just cut it and spread it out a bit? or did she assemble it like that? ooooh! and you could take some paint (or an ink pad) and with the younger kids you could make stamps out of them.....maybe even on a matting? (there's a TV free time idea! LOL) I LOVE IT!
My kids think it's a little nuts that I remember the celery song that they used to sing on Sesame Street when they were little (like 15 years ago)! "We're the celery bunch. And we love to crunch. Celery. Celery. You can eat it with cheese or peanut butter. You can eat it all day, go ask your mother. What about celery? What about celery?" heehee
Ok, now that is cool!!! That's what it looked like when she cut the top off?? I'm going to have to look at my celery after I cut the top off next time :)
Morning Jen :-}

ReplyDeleteAnd I love your idea about stamping with it! Awesome!
That is so cool. I will have to share with my kids when we cut up the stalks in the fridge.
