Homemaker Mondays: Kids and Chores

Welcome to...

Thank you for joining us! If you're new to this carnival and would like to enter your post, please check HERE for the rules and regs.

YOURS: This week's "YOURS" goes to Suzanne over at The Singer Sentinel. Here's what she has to say about one of my favorite cooking ingredients:

"Does powdered butter sound super-yummy??? If not, here is a tip for bottling butter. It's easy, fast, and real butter!"

Yes, she said "bottling butter"! I think this post spoke to me particularly because I have a cow and love to make fresh butter, but it seems to spoil so quickly. Because of Suzanne, my problem is solved!

I also want you to know that I've known Suzanne personally for many years and she is one of the funniest and most organized people I know. Who could ask for more in a friend? Check out her bottling butter post HERE. Thanks, Suz! I miss you!

MINE: Something that is on my mind almost hourly is chores and kids...

There is so much work to do here on our little farm in Mexico and I am constantly trying to come up with ways to make chore time more effective and enjoyable. One of the best things I've stumbled upon is INSTRUCTION SETS.

Have you ever walked into a really messy room in your home and felt overwhelmed with where to even start? Okay, I mean everyone besides Suzanne. I know I have and you know what? I KNOW my kids have. They probably feel like that every time they walk into a messy room and it can feel confusing and oppressive. To try to combat these feelings, I've come up with some step-by-step instruction sets for varying rooms and chores and it has truly revolutionized the way chores our done in our home.

Here are some of the instruction sets that work for us:

-How to clean a kitchen
-How to clean a bathroom
-How to clean a living or family room
-How to fold a fitted sheet

You can use my instruction sets for your family or you can write sets that better pertain to your individual needs. Whatever you do, I know that you will have happier kids and, in turn, a happier mom by trying this. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

OURS: Now let's hear what everyone else has to say this fine Monday! Make sure to check out everyone's links and leave lots of lovely comments! Thanks again for coming and see you next Homemaker Monday!
