The twins....at 11:42 PM...
Twin B had decided that going to bed at his typical 9:00 was just not for him that evening and had been playing for two hours by this time. Thirty minutes prior to taking the photo, Twin A must have decided that he was missing out and woke up to come play with his brother.
And here is me trying to figure out how to take a photo of myself in the mirror depicting my sad and exhausted countenance...
We'll see what tonight brings, but I'm not going to be deluded into making any promises this time!
I am pleased to list this post @...

Sleep depravation is the hardest thing to endure. I have a 7, 5, and 3 year old and I don't think I have had an entire nights sleep in 8 years.
ReplyDeleteGood luck tonight maybe you'll have a miracle!
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
What's sleep? As moms are we even supposed to know until they are grown and moved out? And even then...I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI had a little up at the same time last night...too bad we didn't know or we could have lamented our sad and exhausted countenances together. :)
Your twins are ADORABLE. When you're that sleep deprived, it's a good thing they come so darn cute!!
hee hee - I have little night owls too! They sure are cute though!!
ReplyDeleteps -how did you get the blogher ad on the right hand side of your blog?
they don't let you sleep when they are babies
ReplyDeletewhen they are teenagers you can't sleep because you don't know where they are
when they're grown you think you're going to get to sleep but then old age kicks in and your body forgets how to sleep :)
Kaye, your comment totally made me laugh out loud! So true about teenagers!
ReplyDeleteTiaras, did you mean the Blogher ad on the LEFT sidebar? What I did was to apply to have their ads on my blog. They have a waiting list currently, as they did when I applied, but after about 3 months, they did send me correspondence saying that they had positions available. Your blog has to meet certain criteria, which they will go over at Blogher, and you have to fill out a bunch of tax forms, but it is worth the wait! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteJust how old are you girl?! You DEFINETLY DO NOT look old enough to have a twenty year old daughter, nor to be preggers (a new word some of "the girls" {20 year olds} are using ;-p)for the ninth time!!! I bet you WILL beat your sister-in-law after all!!!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of her - this might be none of my business, but why didn't she just stay with the kids at your house when you went to the Dr.? Also, how was it safe for her to drive around if you couldn't travel by yourself for safety reasons?
Speaking of your Dr. visit, this morning while I was "patiently" waiting for a site to download on my computer, I was flipping through the Sept. '09 issue of Better Homes & Gardens which came yesterday, and on page 234 read the sub-title, "Say the "V" word" in an article about talking to your kids. Late last evening I had read your posting about your Dr. visit, so my head really did a double take at their sub-title!!! They were refering to the "V" word called "Values" ;-p!!!
Speaking of last evening, after getting my list ready to post, I started catching up on emails, of which there were several of your postings .... I left you comments clear back to the one about you testing toys ...
Did you see that I finally got the August list of "Theme days" posted today? - www.xanga.com/thehousethatlovebuilt
I hope that you get extra (in length and soundness) sleep tonight!!
Another site I recently found and keep checking because I am so-o-o-o-o in love with her house and it's setting, posted something about making your pictures look like paintings, and when i read it I thought of how you like "doodling" with your pics. so I thought I would tell you about it - http://www.spend-a-buck.net/2009/08/metamorphosis-monday-kitchen-phone.html
:-}
p.s. - (yes, I know your asking yourself how in the heck there could me more o:-p) When I go to your site and the add at the top is for the Samsonite Frig. which reads "Making dinner tonight for 10?" - and it's on YOUR site - cracks me up every time!!! ;-p
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so sorry! It is hard when the little ones wont nap... I am fighting with mine simply because I am in desperate need of a nap! But look on the bright side, they are very adorable, and you have cute pictures of them now!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, how weird that that ad is on my site! I never noticed it pop up! Funny! To answer your questions, here goes...
ReplyDeleteThe Sister-in-law didn't stay at home with the 3 kids because she has never babysat them before (at least the twins anyway) and I didn't want them to get upset upon waking up and seeing her there.
Second, on the way to the big town from our town are many deserted stretches of road where robberies and other crimes have been known to occur. If one is driving around the big town, it's safer because of the vast amount of people every which way.
Third, I'm 39, so definitely old enough to have a 20-year-old! I got married at 18, had her at 19, and have never stopped since!~
Cheryl, I love all the comments you leave! They are so well thought-out and not, um, short, and I really enjoy reading them! Keep it up, please!
Dang! You're looking good in that photo!!! Get less sleep more often, I guess.... =D
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you get sleep tonight. I like the comment someone made about teenagers....so true. I am waiting up for mine to come home right now but oh so tired.
ReplyDeleteYa know they hate to be without each other......... twins, ya gotta love em! Mine have just spent their first 3 days in Kindergarten!
