I am thankful...
...that most everyone in our town grows apples...
...that THIS taratula didn't figure out how to get in the window, which is right over the head of my bed...
...that sometimes...the twins let me put hats on them...
...that the 14-year-old girl can cut her brother's hair, like this...
...that the twins aren't afraid of huge, green grasshoppers...
...that the twins are old enough to enjoy books...
...that Grandma came for a visit...
(I have to admit, it was a little disconcerting to hand-draw the leaf over Twin A's nether region. Additionally, I will explain why the twins are outside naked in a subsequent post, probably on Friday night.)
...that the 7-year-old girl always makes sure the twins are in style...(or not?)
...that our chickens lay such tasty eggs...
...that John planted giant gourds everywhere that have huge leaves bigger than my hand and climb all over everything...
...that the same John planted me a cutting garden, so I can enjoy the beauty of nature indoors...
...and finally, that I have a super-good friend who knows how to paint toe nails really awesomely!
(The 14-year-old girl just looked at this photo and said I should have put lotion on my feet before taking the photo. I told her I didn't think it would have helped. I have accepted my feet as they are...)
So what are YOU grateful for? I would really like to know...

I loved this, bless you.
ReplyDeleteDang! Those are some cool nails!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd those gourds look fabulous. How wonderful to have a husband to take care of the garden for you. =)
Yikes!!!! That tarantula is one reason I don't think I could ever live in Mexico. I know it is dumb- but I really don't know if I could handle it. We went to the zoo and saw one in a cage and I got chills all over and nauseated and had to turn away. Couldn't even look at it!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great that we have so much to be thankful for?? :)
Your house is beautiful! Much to be grateful for!
ReplyDeleteYou said you wanted to know, so here goes -
ReplyDelete~ that my eldest son, daughter-in-love, and grandaughter willing spent four days here this past weekend!
~ That my eldest son still prefers having his hair cut by his mom (who learned how to do his prefered spike from the stylist show)
~ That sons 3 & 4 CHOSE to move back home to keep us out of foreclosure
~ That my husband still likes, loves and even desires (;-p) me after over 29 years of marriage
~ That we don't get enormous spiders or horrible snakes (which I won't even go in the critter building at the zoo to see) where we live!!!
~ That I enjoy cooking and baking - which really helps with food costs!
~ That headaches eventually go away (albeit slowely).
~ That God loves ME - totally amazing!!
...
Cheryl, love your thankful list! Sounds like you have an amazing family!
ReplyDeleteplease tell me that was not a real spider!!!(and I think your toes look adorable!)
ReplyDeleteHappy TT!
Melissa, I swear to you, that tarantula was all to real!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for.......
ReplyDeleteA hard working husband who knows the importance of me staying home with my teenagers! He gives everything for his kids and I love him for that!
I am grateful for my three kids who keep things live around here.
I am thankful for the home I live in. And that each of the kids have their own bedroom to be sent to....hahaha
I am thankful for the friends and family I have and the examples they are to my family.
Lastly I am glad that our puppy is potty trained.....No more indoor messes. LOL
Hey no explanation needed about why the twins are outside naked. My boys spent more time undressed then dress at that age. I had more messes and daily destruction to my house. And to answer your question, Yes, they do get easier as they get older!
ReplyDeleteHang in there. Love the flowers and the toe nails!! :-)
The toenails are fantastic! So is your list.
ReplyDeleteLOVED your photo's! Brought back memories of my "nakie" babies. However it was the photo of the spider that would make many nightmares for me!! I am doing scary Halloween clear balls using old black & white photos for a craft project. I have taken some dozies! I have an old tombstone, an old "haunted mill, My daughters left eye up close & a clown head & a few others, BUT I gotta tell you ..that spider one would be a keeper!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! Funny thing...just got through watching my daughter in law & Son, chasing their year old twin daughters.....one's super mobile, the other "flavor" is still thinking about becoming mobile....I thought of you & your "nakie" twins & had to giggle & thank my lucky stars I'm just the nana!
