Gratitude with Pictures

I am thankful...

...that the six-year-old girl thoroughly enjoys spending her time organizing drawers, like this...

...that in my years of traveling, I have somehow acquired suitcases in varying shades of pink...

...that my husband took us deep sea fishing this summer (and that the 16-year-old boy is really good at holding babies)...

...that my daughters have taught themselves the guitar...
...that toy manufacturers are coming up with cooler and cooler toys with each kid I have...

...that my hair, instead of looking like this,...

...now looks like this...

...that my daughter has a strong sense of individuality and isn't afraid to show it!

...when my kids work...

...that my grandma has made it to the ripe old age of 95. Go Grandma! I mean, no, don't go...stay! I mean....WAY to go, Grandma! Yeah!

...for baby helpers and toothless baby smiles...

...that I happened to be standing there when THIS happened and that I happened to have a camera two feet away from me...

...that my kids are sometimes friends...

...that I have NINE of them! (Oh, and that my mom introduced me to scrapblog.com, the place I go to make bloggy buttons like this one...)

What are you grateful for this week? I would really like to know...

Oh my goodness, nine children. I have five and I thought that was plenty. God bless you. Your post today is priceless. Your children are beautiful and your photos are wonderful. The twins holding hands in their sleep is so moving. I can not find enough words to tell you how thankful your family should be to have a pretty woman (with a cute short haircut)and a loving mother and wife, to take care of them.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful family.

Hugs...Jeanne

I love when your hair is short, it looks so good. All you Hickerson girls look good with short hair. I can't believe how fast everyone is growing up- especially Claire and Landon and the babies, wow!

I agree...fun post! I remember when my twins would hold hands...it was the best feeling in the world to me to see them do that. They share such a special bond and it is awesome to see that unfold in real life. Thanks for sharing and bringing back some memories for me!

Your posts always warm my hearts with photos like this. Your grandmother looks like she's in her 70's! Wowza! My grandmother is 85 and has Alzheimer's...she's still alive but I miss her, if you know what I mean. Precious pictures of your kids...I love each and every pic! Oh, and nice haircut! You have lots of hair like me. I'll be sure to do a before and after when I get mine done. Right now I look like Cousin It - I'm in dire need of a good old thinning. Happy Thankful Thursday.

What an adorable post! This is just so, so cute, and yes, "GO, Grandma!" My grandmother lived to be 97 years young, and I hope yours makes to 100 or beyond.

Loved your post. I posted about what I'm grateful for on my blog. I hope you'll visit me over there, and in the meantime, I'm thankful I read this post today. It made me S-M-I-L-E!

Wow, beautiful! Loved the babies holding hands. How special!
I'm thankful that my sinus pressure finally subsided after 2 weeks. I am NOT thankful though that it turned into a horrible cold. Yuck! But oh well. OH, I'm thankful for your post, as it brightened my day!

Rachelle, to answer your question about the toothbrushes, it seems that all too often, the toothbrushes get thrown on the floor, often time behind the toilet and I hate to use them or throw them away after that happens. So I sterilize them in the dishwasher. When the kids complain that they can't find their toothbrush, I just have them get one from the silverware drawer. I know, it's weird. That's me...

I love the photo of the twins holding hands while they sleep. How sweet is that!!! That's a little piece of heaven.

So, what am I thankful for? I'm grateful that Heavenly Father has entrusted me with so much; I hate to say it, but sometimes I wonder, "What the heck is He thinking?" But, I am grateful nonetheless and am definitely learning as I go.

I'm grateful for a house to live in and a fairly secure income--I'm guessing no one is completely secure these days.

I'm grateful for a wonderful family (no matter how dysfunctional we may seem at times--like me having to take my son to urgent care today for being hit in the face with the end of a broom as he walked behind his sister as she was using it *sigh*). I'm also thankful for great friends and freedoms.
