What Works For Me Wednesday

Here's what...

...My wood-burning stove. She is finally installed and was fired up yesterday. Here's a view through the window into the lovely flames...

This stove was built to heat a 2700 square foot space and she did a great job. With four overhead ceiling fans recirculating the warm air back down, and the smoke box blowing out warm air recycled from the smoke going up and out the chiminey...,

...we were a toasty bunch. We sat around the stove waiting for this pot of water to boil...

...so we could make the season's first batch of hot chocolate!

Don't you just LOVE fall? We do!

Looks like a nice cozy fire. I have not needed to start my fireplace yet. I always love those first few fires! After that, it starts to seem like real work!! I still continue to do it though since it saves so much money!

Oh that looks lovely. However, we are in Florida, and right now the thought of anything creating heat in my home makes me ill, LOL. It's gonna be near 90 today, and that's not including the heat index. I love your page. I loved your post on piecrust too! Blessings.

Yay for Fall! There is something so comforting about sitting in front of a stove or fireplace in the dark.

Ummm, yeah. A heater on. Well I guess it IS only 100 today, so maybe I should fire ours up, too. ;) It actually is lovely outside, though. It's a nice 100 just not heater worthy.

I love fall. I love the kids snuggled up in warm(ish) clothes,my homemade hot cocoa, making smores or just roasting marshmallows in the fireplace with the kids, I love halloween and Thanksgiving books and stories, I love the chill in the air and the fun activities that our family gets to participate in.

...unfortunately, we don't have a "real" Fall like other places do but we get a slight seasonal change and we travel to see the leaves changing up north.

Wood stoves are my favorite! As soon as it was warm enough for the wood stove to be fired up for the season my dad would not let my mom use the gas stove anymore and she had to learn to cook everything on the wood stove, as kids we loved it but my poor mom!

we are in the market for a fire place/stove, and I like that kind!

What kind of square footage does it heat?

What's the brand, pretty please? Thanks for sharing!

Lucky, lucky you! I've always wanted a wood stove (or a fireplace). It finally feels like fall around here!
