Works-For-Me-Wednesday: Cleaning Out a Diaper Bag

This is what...

Is it just me, or does everyone's diaper bag become a toxic waste dump every couple of weeks? It's most likely just me. Regardless, I am going to share with you how I clean it out. I clean out one side of my kitchen sink, dry it off, make sure the drain is in, then dump the entire contents of the bag into the sink, like so...

Here's why: Usually there are crumbs, small pieces of paper, coins and all manner of small objects that need to be collected. The sink is the perfect place because it will hold the entire contents of my diaper bag and when I am finished reloading all of my belongings, I can just rinse the crumbs down the drain.

I doubt this post has been of use to anyone on the planet, but perhaps you have gotten to know me and my idiosyncrasies just a little bit better. Good luck you to, however you clean your purse or diaper bag!

That's a great idea. I usually dump it on the floor, but you're right, the crumbs getcha every time. I'm so close to losing the diaper bag too. Isn't that the way of it? Like great shoes where'd you get them? Oh, Spain, last year and on clearance. Mmmm-hmmm. :o) Blessings, Whitney

I found your blog, through another blog (I cant remember who) But I am so happy I am not the only one who has a diaper bag that looks like my husband is the one who packed it. I honestly hadn't ever though about dumping it into the sink. I usually do it on the floor and make a huge mess! HAH!

Thanks for the idea!

I can't tell you how comforting it is to know that I'm not the only one whose diaper bag is a crumb-fest! Great idea about the sink and thanks for sharing!

Jen...I have a proposal for Conner. This weekend is Homecoming in El Paso. My sister-in-law is the YW Pres. and 3 of her Seniors didn't get asked to the dance (this Saturday night). She asked me to find 3 boys from the Colonies to come and be "dates." She said she would take care of everything...they just have to show up and be the dates. I know all the boys will be in El Paso Fri. night for the football game, so do you think Conner and 2 other friends would be interested?? Let me know so I can tell my SIL. Thanks.

It's not just you. My diaper bag and my purse are always full of crumbs and sticky with juice.

Emptying it out in the sink is a great idea. I do it on the counter and then my counters are a big mess.

Thanks for the tip!

That's hilarious - it's been about 18 years since I carried one though, but I enjoyed your post, lol. :)

Of course it's great advice! I've been dumping my mess on the counter and then it spills on the floor and I CANNOT STAND THE CRUMBS!!!!!!
