Welcome to the 83rd weekly edition of...
Thank you for joining us! If you're new to this carnival and would like to enter your post, please check HERE for the rules and regs.
YOURS: This week's "YOURS" goes over to Remodeloholic for her tutorial on how to make a book bag, literally. I have to tell you, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, with so much potential for creativity! Just look....
Not only is this website full of useful information, with cool tutorials such as this one, it is well laid out, has lots of great photography, and most important, tons of cute fonts! For Remodelaholics full tutorial, click HERE. Thank you so much, Remodelaholic, and we truly look forward to many more tutorials from you in the future!
MINE: Now, to address the question in my title... Is baby-making homemaking? No, I'm not talking about the conception part, which would be a post all in itself, but rather the gestation and delivery part of baby-making. To answer the question, I would say yes! Thus, I am posting a photo of me, at 40 weeks minus two days. It appears as though little Daniel has no intention of making a surprise early arrival, but would prefer to be punctual, or even late. We shall see. Anywho, here I am, in all of my pregnancy glory...
(I have to admit that my smile was fake in this photo. The 3-year-old was crying because he couldn't have a cupcake like he wanted and I just wasn't all too happy in general about the fact that I would have to go to church the next day, again, pregnant, and hear innumerable people say, "You're still here?" in their sweet Mormon voices. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I didn't want to have to answer back, in my equally sweet Mormon voice, with a sweet Mormon smile on my face, "Yes, I'm still here." And if another person dare asks if I'm sure there aren't two in there, I am going to scream.)
OURS: Okay (now with a happy smile on my face) what do all of you wonderful homemakers have for us today? If you have a pregnancy photo, too, why not link it up today? Thanks for your participation, your visits and your comments and have a great Homemaker Monday!

I sometimes wished that part of being a good Mormon was to make witty, smart aleck comments back to the ding dongs who say "Are you still here? You look like you could pop!" :-)
Sending happy delivery vibes your way!
No pics but with my 6th baby I was about 6 weeks away from my due date and after church a lady in my ward brought us dinner. She said she something about how hard it was to be overdue......thanks for dinner anyway!
You don't look any bigger than last time you posted a picture of yourself. I was overdue ten days with my fourth baby and I dreaded going to church each week for the same reason. Good Luck!
Funny! You look so pretty, jen.
You look Dang good! Honestly people- if you wouldn't want to hear it, then don't say it!
Anyway, thanks you SO SO much for your sweet mention of my blog and the bag! It was such a fun surprise to see!
Here is hoping you get to have a great, fast, easy, delivery very soon!
Remodelaholic, I just have to tell you that my 14-year-old daughter was so excited about this book bag. She's a seamstress of sorts, and totally wants to do this...so thanks!
Jessica, too true!
Oh, sorry for asking (not in a sweet Mormon voice) about your delivery in my mail ;)
My hubby and I have joked around (when I ask him do something that I can't do when preggo, but can do normally) "But honey, I'm busy GESTATING!!"
So yes, I agree that it IS part of homemaking! lol
You look beautiful! Hope he doesn't keep you waiting too much longer! :)
speaking from experience(ha! childless divorcee speaking!) baby-making IS homemaking. looks like you are doing a great job. look how cute you are with your chic earrings and not a swollen ankle in sight. good work! LOVE the book-purse tutorial-it was the first one i went to last week. i think i am going to suggest it as a super saturday craft-how fun would that be?
I think you look great. Camden was born by emergency c-section on his due date and I remember dreading going to church and hearing all the comments when I was so miserable! Your better than me the last 2 weeks I gave up and didn't go. I couldn’t take it anymore.
Ale, you are so funny!
Single Mormon Chic, don't you just love the book bag tutorial? Now I just have to go look through my antique books and pick something out!
Laurice, isn't it funny how we don't want to go to church not because we are too uncomfortable, but because we don't want to deal with the comments? Crazy! I told Jeni that I was just going to die if I had to go to church pregnant again next week. She told me to just stay home whether I had had the baby or not! I'll probably suck it up and go anyway, and just cry about it when I get home!

Laurice and Emily, isn't it funny how we don't want to go to church not because we are too uncomfortable, but because we don't want to deal with the comments? Crazy! Jen, you look so great! I'm excited to see pics of little Daniel when he comes (so be sure to post them) :D The only reason people keep asking if there's 2 is bc that's what there was last time! People keep asking me too and I'm only halfway along and not showing THAT much! Ok, so maybe I'm in denial... Anyhow, good luck to ya!!!
you can do what my friend did when she was pregnant with her 7th child. she made one of those buttons and pinned it on her dress for church that said, "Yes, I am, AGAIN!". Yours could say something obvious like, "you're right, I'm still here!". And smile a lot.
mom in AZ
Hi Jen :-}
First off, I think you should go with 'Mom in Az''s idea!!! Wonderful!
Secondly, I agree with 'Jessica' about often wanting to rebuttle comments. And I agree with both you and 'Single Morman Chick' about often wanting to stay away from people / church due to their comments. About many situations in life.
I have learned, that at their base, most of the people do mean well. It's just often due to our hormonal or emotional states (or both) at the time, that we either find their comments annoying or even hurtful.
After the miscarriages, people would say things such as "at least you have the other two". My mind would reply - 'so what, I shouldn't be mourning loosing this one'? Etc.
Brian said just this morning that people have been coming up to him inquiring where I've been or how I'm doing, and after he explains it, their saying they miss me, etc.. I so-o wanted to tell him to tell them, 'our phone still works! call and ask/tell ME that.'
I could list lots of other examples, but I'll spare you o;-p

Here is another 'Mean Mom Award' to hang on your trophy wall. Reason, not giving into the three year olds tears over wanting a cupcake. Go you!!!
Personally, I take great pride in my wall of 'Mean Mom Awards'!!!
The firemen answered my boys questioning if they had been able to see 'mom's imaginary wall of them', with - "Darn tootin we did!!! You guys have a mom to be proud of!!". I LOVED it!!! ;-p
~~
I want to apologize for suggesting the twins thing in my idea for your sister. It never crossed my mind that you would be getting so many inquires about it, that it would become a sore spot. I was just suggesting ways to mess with your sisters head o;-p Honest!!
~~
glad to hear your 'practing' is still going good! :-D o/~
Cheryl, I agree with you. AZ Mom's idea is awesome and I will probably do it just to make light of the whole situation!
Also, I wasn't referring to your prank about the twins. Sometimes people just look me up and down and make comments that I'd rather they didn't!
You look great Jen! But I do hope Daniel makes his appearence soon, I know yall must really be ready because I know all of us are waiting patiently for his arrival as well! :)
you look fab..and no way there's two in there!
p.s. I think ALL of the babymakin' is good homemakin! ;)
Oh my goodness. You are so cute! Look at you. If I was that cute when I was 40 weeks pregnant maybe I would still be having babies. Ok I doubt it but oh my. So are you going to any blog conferences after the baby comes?? Possibly the CBC up here?? Let me know! And good luck with new baby I know it will be so much fun I love those new little snuggly babies.
I think you look great! I never looked that good at ANY stage of my pregnancies. Hope things go well for you with the delivery. I've enjoyed reading your blog.
You look beautiful. I will be praying that you are meeting Daniel shortly.
Good Luck with your deliverance. I hope it goes much faster for you and daniel will be srong an ehalthy. Much prayer and bl;essings are beings ent your way! I know sisters always mean the best but sometimes we need to show more tack. No one knows more than the mom to be, how far along she is!!!
( Did you read where my daughter in law used a capsule of primrose oil to start her labor? At 40 weeks and 2 days.) :)
Beth, I've been using lots of evening primrose oil, but to no avail so far! All I can hope is that is it softening the cervix and getting things ready to go!
You are so beautiful!
