Homemaker Monday: Kids Should Help

Last week was one of the most dizzying I've ever had. My mother-in-law died suddenly on Sunday night. Monday afternoon I was taken with the flu, and remained largely confined to bed with a fever on and off for the next four days, during the arrival of nearly 100 relatives, 21 of whom stayed in our home.

I'm finally feeling a bit better, albeit a little weak, and we only have 7 people staying with us now. Nonetheless, this will be a simple Homemaker Monday post.

Kids can help with household responsibilities, including babysitting, and should. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking otherwise. Sometimes work can be play, though...

Thanks for listening. :)

P.S. My sister and I are finally getting skinnier!
See how we're doing it HERE! :)

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother in law. You were lucky to know her for those six years, it sounds like she was a very special lady.
I can't even imagine being sick with a bad flu and having all of those people in the house!
I am sharing a comforting recipe this week- Mashed Garnet Yams With Bacon, Chipotle and Pecans.
Thank you for hosting!

i agree with you on the fact that kids should help. I have 2 kids, and i work at home as a day care, and i can see how kids LOVE to help, and i think it is because when they help, they feel as a part of the family.
I'm sorry too for your loss and flu and hope everything will be fine for you.

Wow!!!! I had the flu a few weeks ago & it knocked me out too. I can't imagine dealing with a loss and influx of people during that time.

Glad you are feeling better. Sorry for your loss!

So sorry for the difficult week you had on top of the devastating loss of your mother in law. I completely agree, kids should help, and both my teen daughters do. It fosters a sense of accomplishment and independence. I am linking up a great way to make roast chicken tender, Flip It! All the best, Alex

Kids should definitely help each other. It creates a wonderful relationship between siblings. I hope you are feeling better.
