It's not just you. He's adorable. And isn't it amazing how far ultrasonagraphy has come? Bill has a machine that does 3D images! I wish they'd had that back when I was having babies. The first sonogram I had was of #5 and I couldn't make head nor tails of it.
oh, so excited for you to meet this lil' guy! Thinking sweet thoughts and perhaps a shorter labor this time...well we can hope right? My 2nd was longer than the first...by a lot, and the 3rd was amazingly faster than the first...I attribute it to my third midwife. :) She was amazing. Oh, and I danced with the third. xoxo, trina
I wish I had written a birth story for each of my girls. I didn't have a blog back then and never really thought about it.
You know how when you have the first baby and everybody wants to hear all about it? But then after that I found that no one really wanted to hear what happened...
I really should sit sometime and type out what I remember(not that I could forget :) I have no regrets, I loved both home births. My last 2 deliveries were in hospital and were just not the same. If God gives us any more babies, I would most definitely have them at home with hubby maybe a waterbirth this time. :)
And 51 hours??!! Wow! That is insane! I usually don't start counting until I hit 4 cm because thats when I find that I cannot do anything else but focus on labor and from there I usually am about 10 to 12 hrs. I have had shorter though. One of my home births was only a few hours start to finish.
I still found them all to be different...some of the shorter ones were worse because I couldn't get on top of the contractions and it was so intense all the way through and others that were longer were horribly hard but there was a chance to breath between each contraction which I appreciated. :) Funny how it can bs so different, eh?
Praying that your delivery is beautiful and peaceful and blesses you. Of course, that sweet baby will most definitely bless you!
Oh! Seeing that sweet face all curled up in there makes me baby hungry. What a cutie. I am excited for you. and jealous. I've never had a 3-D ultrasound. How very cool.
When the blog first comes up and you have not had a chance to focus, at first it looks like one of those "which image do you see" pictures, where it could be a rabbit or flying horse. And then you distinguish a face... so much better than the shades of gray decades back when my son was refusing to make his entrance.
I too am enjoying your blog. Your sweet son is a beautiful baby and I too await his birth and story. Our new little guy is now a week old and his mommy posted her birth story if you are interested. Maybe some of the things she did(although it was her first and you are way expereinced) might help you, when your day comes. She has delivered around 80 babies of her patients in a hospital setting and several at home. Here in America dn in Africa. This was different being her first child.
Beth, I would definitely be interested in reading the birth story. My email is mom2my9@gmail.com if you'd like to send the link or you can post it here! Thank you and congratulations!
