Tablescape Thursday: A Mexican Thanksgiving

It started with friends and family here...

They brought THIS many pies...

This is what we ate on...

(...dollar store plates, Sam's special mugs, on-sale cloth napkins from Linens and Things)

(...on-sale place mats from Steinmart, my grandfather's plates, on-sale bubble glasses from Big Lots, mugs from Costco, on-sale napkins from Steinmart)

(...place mats from Steinmart, John's mother's plates and mugs from Guadalahara, on-sale bubble glasses from Big Lots, on-sale napkins from Steinmart)

...and, as posted before, this is how we all felt when we were finished...

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

And now, for your holiday enjoyment... (one of my favorite pieces from Handel's Messiah)

I am pleased to list this post at...

So Alessandra, you dream about your blogging world, too? So do I!

Um, let's see, if you were to make lasagna for just our immediate family, it would only be 11, including you! Come on over!

May be when I was dreaming you were writing your comment about Italian food and we were connected telepathically :-)
Actually I have dreamed only about you, and it was so vivid.
Okay, may be one day, who knows!
Besides don't you sleep?

Peaking in at your post and lovely blog today. I can not believe all those pies. YUMMY! Oh my but I would have had to eaten the pies first! You had enough pies for a small army. Now I am going to be thinking of pies all day long.

I always love to read ur blog! Just when i feel like my life is so stressful taking care of my three boys (that my house is constantly destroyed, that my shower never happens before noon, that i want to pull my hair our or lock myself in a bathroom to cry)... I read your blog and feel impowered, that i CAN do it and women are doing it all over the world are hanging in there too! Thank you for your words, thoughts and ideas! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Manda Mae, guess what? Sometimes I don't get a shower at all! But thank you for your sweet comment. :)

Teri, I would love nothing more than to have all of my blogging friends over for pie! They did not all get eaten that day, but they're all gone now!

And thanks for your compliment on our kitchen. The red brick is one of my favorite parts, too. It's actually antiqued brick tile, not real brick. The beams on the ceiling are fake, too, made of styrofoam!

Very pretty dishes -- and enough pies to start a bakery! Looks like a wonderful family Thanksgiving gathering.

I don't think I have ever seen that many pies, even at a bakery!! Looks like a great time and a nice variety of dishware!
